Cnfirmed Covid-19 Case at Multiple ASD-W Schools - December 18, 2021

Good Evening Families,

This message is written to the families of students from the following schools:

  • Chipman Elementary School
  • Donald Fraser Elementary School
  • George Street Middle School
  • Gibson Neill Memorial Elementary School
  • Meduxnekeag Consolidated School
  • Minto Memorial High School
  • Montgomery Street Elementary School
  • Nackawic Elementary School
  • Nashwaaksis Middle School
  • Priestman Street Elementary School
  • Saint Mary’s Academy

From their work today, Public Health has confirmed one or more cases of COVID diagnosed among individuals from these schools.  Action for students of each of the schools is as follows:

  • Chipman Elementary School - no school for students, please continue rapid testing and register for a PCR test if positive or one symptom arises
  • Donald Fraser Elementary School - no school for students, please start rapid testing and register for a PCR test if positive or one symptom arises
  • George Street Middle School - no school for Grade 6 students, please continue rapid testing and register for a PCR test if positive or one symptom arises; Grades 7 and 8 can report to school on Monday if they continue to test negative and no symptoms are present, please continue rapid testing and register for a PCR test if positive or one symptom arises
  • Gibson Neill Memorial Elementary School - no school for students, please continue rapid testing and register for a PCR test if positive or one symptom arises
  • Meduxnekeag Consolidated School - no school for Grades K to 6 students, please continue rapid testing and register for a PCR test if positive or one symptom arises; Grades 7 and 8 will continue with distance learning, please continue rapid testing and register for a PCR test if positive or one symptom arises
  • Minto Memorial High School - please follow the instructions of the letter that will be sent by the school principal; school will continue for those who are vaccinated or have tested negative with a rapid test up to and including Monday morning
  • Montgomery Street Elementary School - no school for students, please continue rapid testing and register for a PCR test if positive or one symptom arises
  • Nackawic Elementary School - no school for students, please continue rapid testing and register for a PCR test if positive or one symptom arises
  • Nashwaaksis Middle School - no school for Grade 6 students, please continue rapid testing and register for a PCR test if positive or one symptom arises; Grades 7 and 8 will continue with distance learning, please continue rapid testing and register for a PCR test if positive or one symptom arises
  • Priestman Street Elementary School - no school for students, please continue rapid testing and register for a PCR test if positive or one symptom arises
  • Saint Mary’s Academy - no school for Grades K to 6 students, please continue rapid testing and register for a PCR test if positive or one symptom arises; Grades 7 to 12 will continue with distance learning, please continue rapid testing and register for a PCR test if positive or one symptom arises; vaccinated students of Grades 9 to 12 are not required to do the rapid testing

In all cases, if you do not receive a revised Public Health letter from your principal, please continue following the instructions of the latest letter you have received.
